It typically consists of a live room (or booth) for the performers and a separated control room for the sound engineers.<br \/>\nUse for music recordings and radio shows.<br \/>\nVoiceovers and other sound effects are also recorded in studio, although it&#8217;s something you can easily do without a sound engineer.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-206\" src=\"http:\/\/mycours.es\/ems\/files\/2019\/01\/1554963_orig.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"563\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"http:\/\/mycours.es\/ems\/files\/2019\/01\/1554963_orig.jpeg 563w, http:\/\/mycours.es\/ems\/files\/2019\/01\/1554963_orig-300x160.jpeg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 563px) 85vw, 563px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Recording booths are <em>soundproofed<\/em>\u00a0(external sounds don&#8217;t get in and vice-versa), and <em>sound absorbent <\/em>(sounds produced inside are absorbed and scattered to minimize reverb).<\/p>\n<p><b>Foley:<\/b>\u00a0a type of studio recording for everyday sound effects in the post production phase of a film or video. They are typically performed in real time for synching, and often employ creative techniques.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s typically done with directional or contact microphones.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"The Magic of Making Sound\" width=\"840\" height=\"473\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/UO3N_PRIgX0?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h2>Editing Sounds<\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/file\/d\/1ZkohWLajtCycNMPSNH1ReohwFQIYZIC3\/view?usp=sharing\"><strong>Download the example sounds from here<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<h3>File formats<\/h3>\n<p>Wav, mp3, aiff, ogg are the most common formats. Most of them are compressed but it doesn&#8217;t necessarily mean they are low quality. Audition&#8217;s default export\/save settings for each format would work fine.<\/p>\n<p>Flac files are the least compressed files around and may be unnecessarily big. There are a multitude of processes and techniques that allow you to radically transform samples. I&#8217;m going to introduce only a few common ones that don&#8217;t require external plugins.<\/p>\n<h3>Equalization<\/h3>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"[Spectrogram] Aphex Twin \/ \u0394Mi\u22121 = \u2212\u2202\u03a3n=1NDi[n][\u03a3j\u2208C{i}Fji[n \u2212 1] + Fexti[[n\u22121]]\" width=\"840\" height=\"473\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/wSYAZnQmffg?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Any sound can be represented through its spectrum: the individual frequencies that compose it.<br \/>\nEqualization is the process of adjusting the balance these frequencies, selectively filtering or amplifying certain ranges.
