Use the .blend file directly in the asset folder for fast iteration.<br \/>\n<strong>Images: <\/strong>You can import found images.<br \/>\n<strong>Text:<\/strong> You can have UI text triggers or in the environment<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Terrain<\/strong>: you can use the terrain component sculpt reliefs from a plane, it can\u2019t do caves overhangs. It won&#8217;t do anything realistic by itself.<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Sound<\/strong>: you must add some kind of sound. You can add a looping soundscape and looping localized sounds.<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Materials<\/strong>: Don\u2019t use the default blockout grid. Solid colors or simple abstract textures are preferred for this assignment, you won&#8217;t have time to create environment art.<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Lighting<\/strong>: set skybox, environment lighting, fog, early on to set the mood etc.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Effects<\/strong>: you can add post processing effects, and particles.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<strong>Borrowed assets:<\/strong> avoid stolen 3D assets since they will overdetermine the layout of your environment. We can negotiate exceptions if you have a good reason.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3>Expressive Environments<\/h3>\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/mycours.es\/nomorevideogames\/a-pattern-language-for-expressive-environments\/\">A Pattern Language for Expressive Environments<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<h2>Brainstorm (blockout)<\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Pick two prompts and block out an environment that relates to both prompts in different parts of it:<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\nClaustrophobia<br \/>\nIntrospection<br \/>\nDanger<br \/>\nMadness<br \/>\nAltered state<br \/>\nVertigo<br \/>\nCoziness<br \/>\nStress<br \/>\nGrandness<br \/>\nMonotony<br \/>\nEndlessness<br \/>\nAscension<br \/>\nDescent<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Try to solicit an emotional response through pure movement through space.<br \/>\n&#8211; The experience should last about 1 minute.<br \/>\n&#8211; Add an exit (I may stitch the scenes together)<br \/>\n&#8211;<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> You must change the default skybox.<\/span><br \/>\n&#8211; Read this chapter from Robert Yang\u2019s WIP book about level design: <a href=\"https:\/\/book.leveldesignbook.com\/process\/layout\">layouts<\/a><br \/>\n&#8211; First Draw a map of your environment explaining all the pathways and the things a visitor will encounter. Post it in assignments.<br \/>\n&#8211; Incorporate a 3 patterns from the <a href=\"http:\/\/mycours.es\/nomorevideogames\/a-pattern-language-for-expressive-environments\/\">list<\/a><br \/>\n&#8211; Use only simple untextured materials. Not the default grid.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Assignment<br \/>\n<\/strong>-Complete your 1 minute mood place<\/p>\n<h3>Exercise 3: Homeplay<\/h3>\n<p>Show and tell time.<br \/>\nPlay a game\/app either among the ones in the <a href=\"http:\/\/mycours.es\/nomorevideogames\/a-pattern-language-for-expressive-environments\/\">expressive environments page<\/a> or artwork or game of your choice that relates to your project. Present an aspect of it that you find interesting: a mechanic, an effect, a solution\u2026 you can give an overview of the work but try to focus on a narrow aspect and research it as much as you can.<br \/>\nAll presentations should be between 5 and 10 minutes and have audiovisual material (a simple video playthrough should be enough) to support it.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Resources<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>You can start from the<a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/molleindustria\/SoundPlace\"><strong> sound place template<\/strong><\/a>, it has a character controller and some basic interaction scripts.<\/p>\n<p>Import probuilder from the package manager, see video below.<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/sabresaurus\/SabreCSG\">Download SabreCSG<\/a> and install it, see videos below<\/p>\n<p>How do I move around in first person?
