Biggest threat to education ever\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Dilemma for students who don\u2019t wanna cheat<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Cognitive offload Makes you bad at writing, reading, analyzing, and coding<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Undermines your confidence<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If everybody uses AI who is going to post new solutions, new stuff?<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Epistemic breakdown, you access knowledge but you don\u2019t know where it comes from, no way to assess the sources.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">AI psychosis!\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Really bad for people with mental issues, suicide ideation, relationship issues, delusions<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">AI Sycophantism has a Dunning-Kruger effect in the users (think they are more intelligent)<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">THAT SAID, AI as coding aid can be useful and will be likely expected in most workplaces. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\nAt best it speeds up the process of looking for existing solutions online and adapting them to your project.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">At worst it creates code you don\u2019t understand which becomes more and more unwieldy and unmaintainable. It reduces the incentive to come up with your own solutions, it atrophies your coding muscles, and sucks the pleasure out of programming.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Rule of thumb: don&#8217;t use AI code you don&#8217;t understand unless it&#8217;s boilerplate and abstract-able from your game logic. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ask the AI for explanations if necessary, it can be a competent teacher.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3>Reverse engineering a game<\/h3>\n<p>Recreate your assigned video game in p5.js with an AI assistant (I&#8217;ll use chatGPT).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Rules<\/strong><br \/>\n-You are not allowed to reference the name or any revealing elements (eg &#8220;asteroids&#8221;), pretend you are coming up with the game as we speak.<br \/>\n-Don&#8217;t worry about the graphics, keep it abstract, use placeholders.<br \/>\n-You can manually tweak the code.<br \/>\n-Add features one by one, don&#8217;t try to describe the whole game.<br \/>\n-You will share the conversation as part of the delivery.<\/p>\n<p>1) Create and account an <a href=\"https:\/\/editor.p5js.org\/\">log on p5 js<\/a><\/p>\n<p>2) Analyze the game: what are the verbs? What are the nouns?<\/p>\n<p>3) Start from the player controls.
