  1. A perfect metaphor for the Sisyphian struggle of the human condition at odds with a consumerist society, where choice is diluted to a dichotomy of consumption or death. A snail is the right character stand-in where no matter what the player does, they never seem to get anywhere fast. It is worth noting that even in this endless cycle, we never lose our radical freedom in the capacity to willingly commit suicide or, more optimistically, to fall in love.
