  1. It’s pretty interesting to try to figure out what the games’s about, and when you do it’s pretty cool.

  2. Very cute! On my first run, I got the animated ending, and wasn’t sure if there was something else I needed to do to progress. A link to restart would have been nice. Still, I figured it out and was rewarded by seeing all paths the conversation could take.

  3. The game itself is very enjoyable, and it takes a couple of playthroughs to understand what is actually going on. I only picked up on the link of batter and battery until after I’d put the game down. It’s extremely short, and the total lack of background makes meaningful choice near-impossible, but for the concept that’s fine.

  4. I’m going to second an indication that the game ended in some way – I’m still not sure that the battery charging is actually the end of that path. That said, I do like that the traditional “game over” is instead “lost all data”, as that links to the subject material. In addition, I liked that the game didn’t give away the premise immediately – though I will say that, having gotten the battery charging ending first, I didn’t feel the need to replay it again to understand what happened.

  5. I finally got the game after like four plays. Well, that was embarrassing. But I liked that it was short enough and compelling enough for me to play over and over again until I understood. For some games, I just don’t have the incentive to do that. For this one, it was natural to do so. The game was cheeky and funny. Loved the animations!

  6. This was really fun. I only did two playthroughs but I think the short text really gives you the incentive to keep playing and figure out the story. Lots of fun!

  7. Like most people, it took me a number of playthroughs to understand the concept. (In fact, I somehow chose paths that resulted in one of two endings the first four/five times I played it. I’m not sure how, but the fault there certainly lies with me.) Clever use of language, particularly down one of the paths I followed — this really underscored how funny the conversation was if you were aware of what was going on.

  8. If I were to describe this game in three words, they would be: short, in-your-face, and batter.

  9. Alright, it’s a pretty funny joke.

  10. I wish more games were as incomprehensible as this.

  11. Haha this is a great one-liner. Stupid ambiguous laptop

    1. But why is it called “Batter Batter Batter”

  12. I like how quick the game is. Each playthrough only takes a couple seconds, so I was able to play it multiple times and discover different little charms in each ending and the charms in the voice of the writing. I feel like I understood the premise of the game before I finished my first playthrough however, and I’m not sure if your intention was to make it so that the player has to play it a lot of times to get it.

  13. Short, sweet, punny. Urgent or silly. Deal, no deal. If lose data, force window exit? Or change default. Pop-up window warning? Maybe irritating beep?

  14. The game has a tongue-in-cheek humor. The idea of the story doesn’t become clear until played through at least twice. The text is short/to the point. I was inclined to play again and again because of the simplicity in the writing and organization of the game.
