  1. This game is tagged as a semi-guided meditation on trauma and perspective, and in that it absolutely delivers! The (spoilers?) repeated breathe in, breathe out passages that appear serve to slow down this format, which is itself fairly rushed (for me, at least). In addition, many of the passages force you to slow down and consider the action (stillness, in particular was a stand out) before allowing you to move on. The message was also beautifully executed in the color schemes, with the screen lightening as the game went on. Many of the subtle choices served the aesthetic, and it has certainly accomplished its goal!

I do question the passage with the “wall of links” section – while I spent a large time on that page considering the various subjects, I question how it serves the goal of forcing careful consideration when all of the choices pulled me down many different avenues.

  2. Interesting idea with a constant change of canvas. It would provide more agency if you had to wait before clicking the next thing- thus forcing the gamer to truly ponder what you intend for them to. Another way to prolong the game experience would be to place the text at different areas of the screen, that way kids with A.D.H.D. wont just furiously keep clicking non stop. Overall beautiful cover image and great inspiration, I enjoyed playing this

  3. This is the most atmospheric game I’ve played today. I definitely felt the meditative qualities from the thought-provoking text, ambient music, and colors. The interactive portions (waiting for links to appear, clicking through many at once) were also clever and made the experience more interesting. Perhaps some small animations (e.g. through color change, abstract blotches of art) that respond to link clicks could have improved it even more.

  4. – loved the consider times
    – loved the gradual ascent into white
    – as games go it’s unsure if something has ended or not–maybe wanna reduce the waiting time, though the waiting time as it is now is effective…

  5. Atmospherically very strong, but I lost engagement with it very quickly. There’s no real sense that anything interesting or relevant is happening when choices are made. I understand what where you’re coming from, but the formatting, especially the opening line, could come off as somewhat pretentious. That being said, I feel like there’s a lot here conceptually, and with a little tweaking it could really shine.

  6. I really enjoyed the imagery, calm but violent, in this one. The meditation was very calming and the breaths were intuitively placed. My favorite part was the gradual change to white. I feel like if I were angry at someone this would be a beautiful thing to look at.

  7. The mechanics of teaching players to slow down is effective. Usually, I would like to choose random decisions when playing through games. But in this game, I actually stay slowly and start to think about the meaning behinds the sentences.

  8. An incredibly manicured game, from concept to execution. I’m a pretty impatient person, so this game was an uphill battle for me, but that’s more of a personal review than an indictment of the game itself. The game absolutely delivers on being a guided meditation. And I felt such a sense of satisfaction when I reached the end!

  9. The game was awesome. What I love about it how the mechanics tell as much as the story as the story itself. It’s frustrating but calming at the same time. It makes you not want to think but making you think. I really enjoyed it.

  10. Very nice meditative piece. I don’t have much patience, so this game was more of a challenge to me than a relaxation (which I think is what you were intending). It structurally reminds me of those apps that you can download to your phone that help people with anxiety. I can see it being used in that sort of situation, with a few tweaks.

  11. It takes some deep introspection to make a game like this. I was actually surprised by the messages you put here – a lot most would never dare say in public. Its remarkable how well you connect with certain aspects of the human being, not just the visible ones, but also the deep, fragile and very scary thoughts. Well done.
