Assignment 2 ideas

Sorry for the huge delay on this:

1. You are the last remaining male of a rare aquatic species. Your goal is to mate with the last remaining female in the hopes of breeding to continue your species’ existence. To do this, you must woo her with sweet-talk (many cheesy marine-related pickup lines will be used). Will you succeed?

2. So basically, you’ve encountered this weird humanoid creature, and you aren’t sure whether it wants to befriend you or kill you. How it reacts depends on the things you say to it.

  1. So I think I’m most interested in the horrible puns and ridiculous visuals you’ve provided for the aquatic dating sim, but I don’t know if that would cause lasting value or interesting gameplay.
I think the suspense of trying to figure out if this Thing is trying to kill you or befriend you will keep the gamer interested, drawing them towards the end, and maybe get some replays based on their result. visuals are nice <3

  2. So I think you should go with the second one unless you change the premise of the first one in some way. While I like the comedy factor of the first one I find it hard to believe that the last two animals of a specimens of a species would be reluctant to get it on. I mean seriously by the time they found each other they would probably be really feeling their instincts driving them to bump uglies.

As to the second idea I like the art, but I would be pretty sure that thing wanted to kill me from the get go. The game for me would become about convincing me it didn’t want to kill me.

  3. I prefer the second idea, not that the first one is bad, but that it seems like more of the same in the visual novel world 😛 As far as the second, I think that could be really cool! It would be interesting if you could figure out his “triggers” along the way, some being more extreme than others in the positive and negative respect. They could even be certain vowels sounds! Like the sound “Ay” in words could make it much happier and inversely “Ou” could upset it. Just a thought.
