Make a short Bitsy or wareware game inspired by 0ne of the invisible cities you have read.
The challenge/question of this prototype is: If the city was a bitsy game how would it look and play like? Bitsy game as: a simple environment with an avatar “rooms”, characters, dialogues and objects.
Some brainstorming questions:
– Avatar: if “you” were in the city, who would you be? (visitor, resident, worker, etc…).
– Rooms: What would be the spatial layout of the city? (neighborhoods, landmarks, infrastructure…)
– Characters: Who would live in the city? (how would they speak, how would they look, would they have groups, class differences, desires etc)
– Objects: given what established above, what would be some objects to use, collect, examine?
-Go through the Bitsy resources first
-Don’t spend too much time on graphics, this is a narrative and level design prototype
-It must have elements of exploration and non-linearity
-Make sure to have at least 3 “rooms” 3 NPC and 3 objects
-Find a soundtrack to play during the playthrough that can set the mood. It can be just a separate youtube video on loop.
-Complete it as an assignment
