  1. And then it was a rocket.

Neat little design, maybe add something to hilight what’s currently clickable?

  2. Very cute. I love the simplicity of the idea and all the animations were well done. (The rocks falling were especially good.)

  3. This is more of an aesthetic comment but it would have been cool to have a simple purple landscape in the background. Right now compositionally the screen seems too empty.

  4. I agree with the comments that enjoy the simplicity of the design. I like the composition and the limit in the palate of your colors. The progression was intuitive, mysterious and every click I made had a satisfying result. I like the progression in the transformation of the environment and how not everything was obvious or transparent. Well done.

  5. The visuals are simple and appealing. I agree that the ground makes the landscape seem empty rather than dreamlike – I would remove the ground altogether.

One thing I found a little unrealistic was the speed of the rocket. Given the shape of its thrusters, it likely would have to accelerate from a slow speed.

  6. I really dig this pallet! Also the simplistic vector imagery is really awesome, and reminds me a lot of the Edible Castle series for some reason. The transformation was very smooth and the falling rocks animation was really believable.

  7. I love the design. Very clean and simple, as others have said. I think you would have benefitted from a couple of little sound effects and a few other touches like making his walking animation/rocket launch a bit slower. Overall, all of the animations were really well done – the rocket transformation was pretty awesome. The idea is fun and I think you executed it really well!

  8. I want sound! It would me most awesome if the rocket blasted off to rocket ride too… but simple sounds would do. I mean I imagine this King as a herp a derp type guy so some muttering or some sounds to define him as a character would be awesome. Very strong in general. One big problem though:

Why the doesn’t the king take the flag with him!? How the hell will he lay claim to new planets without a fracking flag?

  9. Hahaha amazing moment when the castle turns into a rocket, and the surface turns into a planet surface with a flag on it!

  10. cool game! i remember you telling me how you were going to execute it and it came it out well

  11. I would have liked a fade out or something, and an expansion on Jing’s idea maybe where you zoom out and it’s a planet. Super good though – it wasn’t obvious what I was supposed to do but it wasn’t frustrating either

  12. Is there something cooler than a castle? a rocket and a green flag left on earth.

  13. Awesome! I almost wish you didn’t explain it to me last week so the rocket thing would have been more of a surprise but I think it’s great. I agree with something someone said earlier that the composition could use a little bit of work but I think you made a great, simple, intriguing game within the given timeframe with great animations and consistency. So awesome! 🙂

  14. Composition could be better, a bit too much negative space. Rollover hints would be great but nobody really implemented them. The flag thing is quite random. Yeah castles+rockets are cool

  15. Very cohesive environment, nothing seemed out of place at all. If I had a castle I would definitely give it the rocket feature 😀 Well done! My only criticism would be the melt-away rocks, but thats tiny

  16. I was stuck at two points, right before the flag click and at the end after the rocket was gone. I did not know the game ended. But overall a clean game, style, and animations. Cool.

  17. This is effin’ adorable. I love the animations.

  18. You are now the king… of space.

    Also really dig the palette.
