Assignment 3 Proposal

You play as a tree of life that bears fruits of goodness.  A girl comes up to you to ask for your fruit, but you cannot bear fruit without her help.  All she has is a fishing rod and she cannot enter the water, but everything you need is underwater.  You can help her catch things to assist you in bearing fruit by using your roots, or you can just get her to leave.  Your actions will direct the conversation between the tree and the girl.

The Dark

You don’t have much juice left in your flashlight… just enough to take a brief look around. Anything you discover you can put to use, but discover nothing… and its lights out (PUN!) You progress through some building, but thats all you know. Hope you shine on all the right places!

ARCADESWAG: ANDREW BUENO/ NATHAN TREVINO

So I have so much love for arcades. I spent my childhood there and I have always wanted to build an arcade style game machine. My first inclination is to make THIS game. Hunt’em, by Johan Hargne Nohagen, Teo Mathlein, Alex Batsis. It is very intuitive and it very easy to understand. Aside, from being one of the most fun games I’ve played online, it is very beautiful for a online game. I think that this game will be nicely appropriate to house in a ‘traditional’ type of arcade machine. The technical requirements are nonexistent save you need Unity.

I don’t know how it will look. Just that it will look pretty swag. I would like to have a giant food chain party (like all the foods we eat represent the animals you can hunt in the game.)

 

I think that the basement of the FRAME would be an amazing place to put this arcade installation. I don’t think we have any choice but it’s cool if we could (yeah?).

Arcade Proposal – Biplanes/Luftrauser. Mackie & Biar

So for our arcade we want to work with the game Biplanes found here. Wanting to do a typical 2-player arcade feel, the box will take the classic shape… For controls, we want to take the images of the planes from the game (made out of wood for a nice feel) and attach them to 2 direction/rotation sliders. Left and right would be accelerate/deccelerate, rotating would rotate the plane in game.

Also maybe team up with Bueno and Nathan based on what they’re up to <3

It would appear that you are the fastest on the planet and you are having a very bad day.

Presentation space: Would be neat to build some sort of cabinet around the computer using very drab, sort of broken-down wall materials, or maybe crates. Controls could be keyboard or some sort of button. (Alternately, it totally isn’t a terrible idea to hook it up to a dancemat/controller you can jump on. Totally.)

Hyper Friend

So, I’m not done (mainly because of spending too much time working on the Maya plugin), but here is some concept art:

The hyper being as a gateway extrusion that the girl character can use to travel.

The hyper being acting unfriendly in the CIA lab.

Assignment 2 ideas

Sorry for the huge delay on this:

 

1. You are the last remaining male of a rare aquatic species. Your goal is to mate with the last remaining female in the hopes of breeding to continue your species’ existence. To do this, you must woo her with sweet-talk (many cheesy marine-related pickup lines will be used). Will you succeed?

2. So basically, you’ve encountered this weird humanoid creature, and you aren’t sure whether it wants to befriend you or kill you. How it reacts depends on the things you say to it.
