  1. I like the illustrations! You managed to make the sword very expressive, and I love its sarcastic personality. There’s some great lines in this game, and the dialogue felt natural. Each scenario was pretty short, but there were a lot of options, so I don’t think the length mattered too much.

  2. Good use of physicality to establish personality – with that and the expressiveness of the eye, you set yourself up with a funny character. Still, the fact that you can’t get on the sword’s good side or have an extended conversation leaves it feeling a bit like a one-shot.

  3. I like it overall. There are very good instances where dialogue is exceptional. The whole story was quite short but I did end up enjoying it.
The illustrations were awesome and the static background was hilarious (to me).

  4. Funny game. I’m not very good at it, probably because of my attempts to take over England with absolutely no finesse whatsoever.

Needs voice acting with a fake British accent, obviously.

  5. The humor worked well here and the game was just short enough that it didn’t overstay its welcome. My only critique is that the graphics don’t seem to match very well. More polished vector cartoons would fit the story better, I think.

  6. Love it, love it, love it. The diction is great, and I appreciate the wide plethora of options.

  7. Having a lot of options is nice but they were all to short. I was able to play through each choice in the game within 10 min. I felt the most interesting part was the questions. You have a lot more potential for softening up Excaliber and maybe even developing a connection to the character. As of now it has a cold attitude the entire time and is really not as funny as I know you can make it. The graphics are alright. Maybe some close up shots of the hilt would enhance the humor of the story.

  8. I like the dialogue and the humor of the story, but I wish it was longer so that we could see more of it. I played through a couple times, but I found most branches to lead back to the same place. It kind of felt like you went for a lot of options, but really only wanted the player to follow one path. I liked the expressiveness of the sword and the music is strangely fitting for the tone of the story.

  9. I liked the humor in the story and just how many bad endings there are. I was really terrible at winning the swords respect I eventually gave up. I agree with Jessica, you were able to make the sword very expressive and that was really great. I feel like playing this game after awhile you just start memorizing paths instead of really playing the game though.

  10. It feels more like a collection of Excalibur jokes and ends up abruptly. Unlike most of the other assignments this one branches out too much without linking back to a main narrative arc so you experience a wide degree of freedom that doesn’t last long.
The sword’s characterization is good, I don’t like the duplicate sword in the background.
