  1. I like the idea of the game, but I wish there were more people to talk to and more ‘quests’ you could do with people around the neighboorhood! There were too many points where I was walking around with nothing to do and nobody to talk to. The music was nice, though. I was also impressed by the barriers that you added in, that must have taken a while to get right. I kept trying to walk into houses or up trees and was unsuccessful.

  2. so a couple things that could be fixed: some of the pictures don’t line up perfectly, and some Google logos ares till showing. I could say this is an aesthetic, but I don’t feel that it matches with the pixelled characters. They are kind of hard to see. and i’m not sure if the music supports the content well.

it does feel very autobiographical; its dull and kind of funny. it’s written with this odd honesty, where people wouldn’t actually say what they do; I can tell you’re imposing your opinion on them. that’s the most interesting part

    1. also, some of the borders are hard to navigate

    2. oh ANNNND diagonal movement would have been nice. i found going up,right,up,right,up,right a little slow

  3. I’m kind of torn on whether I like the music or not. On one hand, it does make me think of the emptiness of their neighborhood. On the other hand, the beat feels out of place. I do like the use of google maps as a background though, as it really roots the mundanity of walking around the neighborhood in reality. I think some of your sprites are blurry or don’t have transparencies working quite right though, making them a little hard to see.

  4. The DIY feeling to the graphics combined with the bland electrobeat really replicated the suburban atmosphere. I loved the dialogue with the people and the fact that what they say has no coherency or relevance to anything. I liked the kid who calls himself a little douche the best.

  5. Nthing the liking of graphical choices. It felt approximately as purposeful as traversing any given suburb, so I guess it was a success? Now I’m remembering how boring my parents’ neighborhood is.

  6. Yeah, I was going to say that the bland electrobeat really does remind me of my middle-school years in suburbia. While people are peppered about the landscape, there are so few of them, which perfectly reflects the fact that suburbia is a goddamned desert a lot of the time. The sense of scale definitely works to your advantage I think – I actually like being able to see ahead and know not really know whether I’ll ever find anyone. Little Douche is indeed the best character.
