  1. KYNA! I really like the character design, and i’m wondering how you can make the environment more cohesive to it; maybe adding a similar shading style to the trees? I agree that some sort of inventory, and even a kind of character-progression would make for nice gameplay elements, adding depth and a sense of progress. meow

  2. Hey Kyna, This is for you as suggestions in the Monster Platformer. I love the character. Maybe more of a face to keep it away from the obvious references to anime and such. I also think that the forest may be large monster legs or something? I don’t know I’m just shitting out ideas cause this is a very exciting game.

  3. I think this is a fantastic start! My suggestions are to have more of a reason to collect these flowers and give them to the children, why should you care? I also feel like it is a bit too two dimensional and would love to see some things farther in the distance of the forest.

  4. I really like the visual style and I think the gameplay mechanics could be improved. Like maybe the flowers are on the tree trunks to make it more difficult. Or bouncing off of Eric’s idea about absorbing and shooting out the kids, you could use the kids to get flowers that are otherwise unreachable thereby making it more of a puzzle / more challenging.

  5. I love the character art and the environment. Your monster designs are pretty cool 😀 I also think that adding some sort of shading to the trees would make them fit into the style of your game a bit better, but I love how colorful they are. I also think that making the ‘pickup-able’ flowers a bit bigger or more distinct might be helpful.

  6. I like the multi-color theme as well as the character design.

not much to do here.. is it ever explained why the monsters’ babies are missing or why you are collecting flowers?

I also don’t really see a story here

  7. Hey, to start off I really enjoy the stark design of the forest. You just need an intermediate shade, but the layering is well done. I think you probably need a little more variety in the character design (how does one monster species interact with another?). Also, a way to indicate which flowers you have you would be super helpful, even if it’s just having the flowers appear in a corner of a GUI.

  8. Maybe some interactions related to that huge eyes? 😛
